Mr. Zhan Wu
He was born in Wenling of Zhejiang Province in
December 1920. He is a senior research fellow,
professor and doctoral tutor.
He studied in Yanan Shaanbei Public School and
Marxism and Leninism College. He was Head of the
Business Group of the Political Research Office
and researcher of the Party Affairs Research Office
of the Central Committee of CPC, and economic
secretary of Mr. Ren Bishi and Mr. Li Fuchun.
During the liberation war, he was the head of
Middle Hebei branch of Shanxi-Chahaer-Hebei Border
Region Bank. He was the military representative
and head of the Bank of China in Tianjin after
the liberation of Tianjin, military representative
of the head office of Bank of China in Shanghai
after the liberation of Shanghai, Executive Vice
President of the head office of Bank of China,
member of the Party Group of the head office of
People’s Bank of China, Head of the Foreign Business
Management Bureau, Head of the Shandong Provincial
Finance Bureau; Head of the Agricultural Economy
Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Social
Sciences after 1978; Executive Director of the
Economic Research Center of the State Council,
full-time member of SCRES and Executive Director
and Advisor of CSER after 1981; member of the
Economic Assessment Group of the Academic Commission
of the State Council, member of the Academic Degree
Evaluation Commission of Chinese Academy of Social
Science, Vice Board Chairman of China Agricultural
Economic Institute, Vice President of China Rural
Finance Institute, Vice President of China Urban
Finance Institute and Advisor of China Rural Fiscal
Institute (1980-1991). He was conferred the outstanding
contributor to social sciences in 1992 and enjoyed
the special government subsidy.
