Mr. Tong Dalin
He is a member of CPC who was born in Xiamen of
Fujian in 1918 and graduated from a middle school.
He joined the underground revolution and movement
of saving the nation and resisting Japan in Xiamen
(1934-1937), left Hong Kong for Yanan in February
1938 and joined CPC in April. He worked in the
Youth Saving the Nation Union of Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia
Border Region and the Youth Committee of the Central
Committee of CPC from 1938 and was the Vice President
of Yanan Youth Union. He was the instructor of
the fifth regiment of the Northwest Youth Battle
Field Working Regiment in 1939 and joined the
Yanan Forum on Literature and Art in 1941.In 1946
he went to the Northeast and joined the land reform
and served as Secretary of Regional Party Committee,
Regional Head, Executive member of the County
Party Committee and Head of the Information Department.
He was Secretary General and Chief Editor of Heilongjiang
Daily (1948-1954). He set up the Beijing Jiangshan
School in 1960. After cracking down the Gang of
Four, he was Vice Secretary General and member
of the Party Group of Chinese Academy of Sciences,
Vice Minister of the State Commission for Science
and Technology, Vice Minister of SCRES, Head of
China World Observation Research Institute, Deputy
to the Twelfth National Congress of CPC and member
of the Seventh National Committee of the CPPCC.
